Great Portland EstatesGreat Portland Street and Riding House Street, London

Major rebuilding and refurbishment of a terrace of neighbouring properties of differing ages and styles including a Grade II listed building to provide a retail, office and residential mixed use scheme. This was Knight Harwood’s 8th project for Great Portland Estates.

15 market residential units have been constructed including a 3 bedroom penthouse. Finishes include reclaimed mahogany parquet flooring, timber sash windows and period mouldings. Contemporary residential units comprise pale timber flooring, full height glazing to living spaces and stunning fitted joinery, kitchens and bathrooms. The development also provides 9 affordable residential units and 2 private rental units.

The project was carried out with occupied apartments in the midst of the site and in an extremely challenging West End location in terms of logistics.
